Update July 10th, 2010: This year’s event seems bigger and better than ever with perfect summer weather too! The booths seems to be taking over more and more of downtown and combined with the new stores – there’s plenty to see.
Update July 10th, 2010: At Art in the Park this year, we stopped by the Old World Olive Press and the place was crowded with Olive Oil tasters – so much so that we decided to come back at a later date. The place looked great and the people were sure enjoying themselves!
We just picked up a copy of Then & Now Plymouth by Brian Hill. This 95 page paperback captures Plymouth’s past to present with lots of wonderful photographs and descriptions. You can see many of Plymouth’s beautiful homes, businesses, and Churches – and read about their history and the people who built them. On page 18 you can even see the house where Carrie’s dad grew up (they no longer own it)! It’s a great read and available for $21.99 from Made in Michigan in downtown.
As a self proclaimed sandwichista, I’ve enjoyed sandwiches from around the world so it was with great delight that Simple Sandwich opened in Plymouth. We’ve been here several times and we always love the delicious
sandwiches, soups, and salads. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is attractive, and even the packaging is well done. Stop by if you have a chance. Simple Sandwich is located on Forest Ave. just off Ann Arbor Trail and offers seating where you can enjoy the ‘up North’ photos.

It’s that time of year again when downtown Plymouth streets are blocked off, white tents spring up, and parked cars clog all the neighborhood roads. Art in the Park is back and as strong as ever with vendors selling their goods as far as the eye can see. It was a good day for everyone – including the kids on our street selling lemonade and homemade cookies. Hopefully all the sellers and buyers did as well today too!
